Mi Pequeno Mexico Reviews
Bomb Mexican spot in Ironbound. Very authentic and a bit of a hole in the wall. My husband and I came here several times when we were visiting NJ. We loved it because: 1. Great food - burritos were our favorites (BIG!), great guac too 2. Reasonably priced 3. Friendly staff
I used to be a regular here. I became obsessed with their chimichangas lol. I would come like every week sometimes twice a week. I haven't been here in about 3 years! Glad I can say the food is still good! The staff is very attentive. I visited on Sunday & got the beef tacos! Delicious! They also give you chips & salsa as you wait for your order. They make their own chips (tastes so much better than store bought) & I think they make the salsa too (I'm not 100%) sure. I Always recommend this place when it comes to some good Mexican food!
It doesn't look like much from outside but, the inside is cozy. It wasn't very busy when I arrived and I was seated right away. There were a few tables when I arrived and it it continued to fill up. I was brought great chips and salsa to start - they were delicious. I ordered the Pollo a La Mexicana as my main dish. I was pleasantly surprised by the portion size. It was more than ample for one person. The only negative I can really say is that the sauce on the chicken was a little watery on the plate and somewhat over took the salad. I will definitely come back to give something else a try.
Mi Pequeño México helped to spice up our Valentine's Day with a beautiful heart tray of tacos. We got steak and chicken tacos that came with guacamole, salsa verde, hot sauce and sour cream. The Valentine's Day package also came with a half gallon of horchata. My only qualm was that the steak was a little too tough. I've also come here on a regular days and had various dinner dishes. All of which we're definitely tasty and flavorful. I have to say the chicken fajitas are my favorite. They recently opened up for indoor dining so definitely stop in if you're in the area.
Who would have thought that in the midst of Portuguese/Brazilian occupied Ironbound you would find such a great Mexican restaurant. My chilaquiles were delicious. Everyone in our group was happy with their choices. They happily complied with the few minor changes/substitution that we had. Byob.
My favorite place in the Ironbound!! I always go with the chicken milanese and always leave feeling so full and satisfied. They also give salsas/dips and chips beforehand which are so delicious. I haven't tried anything else on the menu because the pollo is so friggin good haha. Definitely coming back soon!

I love this place. They have the tacos that are double tortilla, and that's what it should always be. Really authentic Mexican food, and I can't get enough.
